Two brands on one plot is a brief that goes wrong in a predictable way: either the stand reads as one company and the weaker brand disappears, or each half is designed separately and the result looks like a partition wall. Neither is what the client is paying for.

The answer here was a single structure and a single lighting scheme — so from the aisle it reads as one considered stand — with each brand given its own display wall, its own approach and its own sightline into the plot. Carpet is also an unusually demanding product to light: it is judged on pile and colour depth, both of which die under flat, even illumination, so the lighting was planned for raking light across the samples rather than a uniform wash.

What we did

  • One structure and one lighting scheme across two brands
  • Separate display wall and entry sightline per brand
  • Raking light planned for pile and colour depth, not a flat wash
  • Sample walls set at handling height
