The stand as built

The first of three stands we have built for this client. The brief here was a synthesis of traditional and modern — a claim almost every furniture brand makes, and one that usually ends up as a decorative motif applied to an otherwise ordinary stand.
It was handled as a construction question instead. Where the product carries handwork, the display brings the visitor close enough to see it: lower plinths, tighter viewing distances, and light angled to pick up edge detail rather than flatten it. The stand's own carpentry was left legible for the same reason — on a stand about craft, hiding all the joinery would have argued against the product.
What we did
- Viewing distances set so handwork is actually visible
- Light angled to pick up edge detail rather than flatten it
- Stand carpentry left legible, consistent with the claim
- Traditional and modern handled in construction, not as a motif
